Established in 1953
Barrow Society of Artists is a membership based not for profit community of local artists.
We aim to: hold regular meetings for talks, demonstrations and workshops. We host a yearly exhibition to showcase our Artists work.
And we create and attend events that are of interest to artists and art lovers alike.
Artists teaching Artists to develop and improve has been our aim since 1953.

2025 Exhibition at the Dock Museum
From April 12th until June 15th.
The Dock Museum is a local treasure. It has parking facilities, a café, permanent displays telling the foundation history of Barrow in Furness. And luckily for us a whole floor dedicated to Art Exhibitions.
Check out the opening days and times before your visit by visiting their web site https://dockmuseum.org.uk/home or by clicking on the link to their Facebook page.

Demos and Workshops
Free to Members usually held on the first Monday of Each Month: But we do sometimes add extra ones in so check out our site blog where we intend to keep you updated on what's happening in the local Art scene.
At our meetings we try to cover different ways of creating art: from traditional methods such as oil painting and water colours to the latest in digital art.
We also enjoy printing and pottery and other art forms.

We also do Pop up Events: this year we are attending local Art Events, planning a Plein Air meet up and adding in some extra workshops.
